White Dragons Pt. 4

Ancient white dragons are power players in the cold regions of a world. They shape and mold global politics, and use their experience from their youth to set up fairly straight forward money making endeavors.

Very old, Stomrik, CR 17

Stomrik is widely known for the havoc he causes on shipping lanes, but unfortunately no one has the power, or influence to get someone with power, to find him, let alone stop him. He is a wise tactician, and emerges to claim only the choicest of vessels for his horde.

Stomrik has taken to employing the tactics of his youth, at a much bigger scale. When he detects a wealthy shipping vessel crossing near his lair, he stealthily emerges, and summons banks of fog clouds that seem to travel with the ship. Then, from below, he smashes his way into the hull sinking the ship and swims away, returning to collect the treasure later. If forced into combat, he prefers to do so from underneath his foes while they swim and relies heavily on his breath weapon and fear aura. If he knows he will be going into battle, he will cast an extended resist fire.

Breath Weapon SU: as a standard action, once per 1d4 rounds, Stomrik can breathe a cone of cold 50ft long dealing 9d6 cold damage reflex save DC 32.

Frightful Presence EX: Stomrik can unsettle foes with a mere presence. The ability takes effect automatically whenever he attacks, charges, or flies overhead. Creatures within a radius of 270ft are subject to the effect if they have fewer than 27 hit die. A potentially affected creature that succeeds on a Will save (DC 27) remains immune to frightful presence for 24 hours. On a failure, creatures with 4 or less HD become panicked for 4d6 rounds and those with 5 or more HD become shaken for 4d6 rounds.

Freezing Fog SP: 3/Day – This is similar to a solid fog spell but also causes a rime of slippery ice to form on any surface the fog touches, creating the effect of a grease spell. Stomrik is immune to the grease effect because of its icewalking ability. This ability is the equivalent of a 5th-level spell.

Lair

Stomrik’s lair is ingenious, mobile, and impossible to assail. Some years back, he hallowed out the interior of an iceberg. Only accessible from an underwater entrance, and constantly mobile, he is able to drift the oceans raiding trade ships at his discretion. When the berg is not near any particular shipping lanes of note, Stomrik will either fly a distance out (keeping the bergs location tracked with arcane mark), or simply sleep for a few weeks and see where he is when he awakens.

Horde

Stomrik’s horde has grown quite large, and is filled with gems. So large in fact, he had to restructure the iceberg to keep the contents below the surface, after it was spotted by a passing ship who thought they stumbled onto an unattended fortune.

Bannamore has begun to see the value in preparations, and generally spends some time casting protection spells (beyond mage armor) before she engages with foes. Her favorite tactic is newly discovered, and is to dimension door directly on top of her foes. Then, as they run in terror from her presence, she disappears with greater invisibility and engages with melee and breath weapons.

Frightful Presence EX: Bannamore can unsettle foes with a mere presence. The ability takes effect automatically whenever he attacks, charges, or flies overhead. Lair

Bannamore and her legions operate out of a castle in Mungoth, the third layer of the Bleak Eternity of Gehenna. Amidst the constant snow and ashfall, Bannamore’s fortress is one of the few identifiable features. At all times, she can be found with her lieutenant, Iphrott, an Arcanaloth, and no less than a dozen Yagnoloth and Marraenoloth guards are stationed throughout the fortress at any given time with a hundred or so out on various assignments.

Horde

Bannamore’s horde is legendary, and in a constant state of flux, as she pays her soldiers and collects payment from her customers.
