Green Dragons Pt. 2

Adolescent and teenage green dragons have started to find themselves and are starting to find their place in the world around them. The young adults are starting to reach a size where they can throw their weight around, and in general they transition from mischievous to dangerous.

Difyr, Young Green Dragon, CR 5

Difyr has found herself a nice grove on the outskirts of the small town of Maddex. Here she watches travelers come and go, and has maintained a low profile so far by only striking lone travelers, or those foolish enough to camp outside the town proper.

Difyr knows she can win most fights directly, but still prefers to ambush her prey when they are sleeping. She also knows that the town has a squadron of gaurds, who will be called at the first sign of a dragon, and that they have archers. With that in mind, she almost never takes flight, and will only do so for low altitude attacks (under 20ft) or if she is driven from the town itself.

Breath Weapon SU: as a standard action, once per 1d4 rounds, Difyr can breathe a cone of corrosive acid gas 30ft long dealing 6d6 acid damage reflex save DC 20.

Lair

The town of Maddex has been growing considerably as of late. An influx of merchants and trade goods has started, after some local nobility decided it was the perfect retreat. Difyr has found a small grove in the woods that gives her a great vantage point to watch the roads in or out.

Horde

Difyr has found great success raiding merchants and unwary travelers as of late. The most recent of which, a cheese merchant, she is not quite sure what to do with. Her treasures are stashed inside a dense blueberry bush as best she can hide them. The cheese and wine are throwing a wrench in that, and she simply has them stacked conspicuously in the clearing.

Gwyngad, Juvenile Green Dragon, CR 8

Gwyngad has finally grown large enough to consider himself “a proper dragon”. Stealth is no longer his go to option but that’s OK, because he now knows Spells.

Gwyngad keeps regular patrols of his new home, not knowing when its former inhabitants may want to return, and can be seen flying high overhead surveying the environment. If he has the opportunity, he will cast Mage Armor prior to a fight. He begins most encounters flying overhead, and will start by using magic missile to soften his foe while he descends. Once on the ground, he unleashes breath weapons, and full attacks until he wins. He is not above flight in any way, and carries a good portion of his horde with him.

Breath Weapon SU: as a standard action, once per 1d4 rounds, Gwyngad can breathe a cone of corrosive acid gas 40ft long dealing 8d6 acid damage reflex save DC 23.

Lair

Gwyngad has found himself an abandoned retreat for some nobility. A small, well furnished house, attached glass greenhouse, small pond, and large garden surrounded by plentify flowering plants, make this an idyllic space. Except for the hostile dragon who has claimed it.

Horde

Gwyngad’s horde mostly consists of the valuables he was able to find within the house. He carries the gems, scrolls, and jewelry on him but the sundial is in the garden. He has not found the Siangham yet, and it is stashed under the floorboards of the kitchen.

Rhiannon, Young Adult Green Dragon, CR 11

Rhiannon is starting to enjoy becoming scary. She hunts mostly at night, and lurks in the woods near cities waylaying those who try to travel between these points of light. She has set up residence in a forest cave, and begun to pile her horde within. She is on good terms with a pair of opportunistic Satyr, who have promised to guard the cave in exchange for protection.

Feats:Flyby attack, multiattack, ability focus (Breath Weapon), Lightning Reflexes, Iron Will, Practiced Spellcaster, Ability Focus (Frightful Presence)
Alignment:Lawful Evil

Rhiannon has learned how to use her size to her advantage, and can trigger the primal fear that comes with knowing you are not at the top of the food chain. Rhiannon delights in melee combat, and will land in the center of a group she hopes to defeat. She laughs as they panic at the sight of her, and then even more when their weapons cannot overcome her DR and their spells fail due to SR. At this point, Rhiannon has enough spell slots to cover most of a day in mage armor (3 slots for 21 hours) and will generally do so.

Breath Weapon SU: as a standard action, once per 1d4 rounds, Rhiannon can breathe a cone of corrosive acid gas 40ft long dealing 10d6 acid damage reflex save DC 25.

Frightful Presence EX: Rhiannon can unsettle foes with her mere presence. The ability takes effect automatically whenever she attacks, charges, or flies overhead. Creatures within a radius of 150ft are subject to the effect if they have fewer than 17 hit die. A potentially affected creature that succeeds on a Will save (DC 22) remains immune to Rhiannon ‘s frightful presence for 24 hours. On a failure, creatures with 4 or less HD become panicked for 4d6 rounds and those with 5 or more HD become shaken for 4d6 rounds.

Sorcerer Spells – CL = 7

  • Level 1 – 6/Day – DC 13

Lair

Deep in the Cadawg Wood, Rhiannon has found herself a lair in an aquatic cave beneath a lake. This means she is generally difficult to find and defeat at home, and her horde is mostly safe. She is often outside of it, waylaying merchants on the roads, only returning at dawn to stash more of her horde.
